Promise?
by ~CaliforniaBabeWVThe wind of Junon threw back Aerith's brunet tendrils, her long braid swaying in the air. She placed her left hand above her brow line, shielding the sun's glare from her eyes as she peered up at the ship like a young child gazing at a long awaited gift. It was purely magnificent she thought. The airship was accompanied by a deep blue sky. It was truly an amazing sight to the cetra.
She had never gotten the chance to see something so amazing before and she wanted so badly to get on that airship and soar through the skies but, she couldn't. Hours later, Aerith found herself wearing a SOLDIER's uniform, feeling the strong waves of the ocean rock her and the boat back and forth as they road to their next destination. This too was an experience she had never been through before. Not wanting to be found, Aerith decided to hide herself behind a few wooden crates below decks. After a while of sitting there, she heard heavy steps stop behind her.
"Hey," she heard a familiar voice call out to her, causing her to turn around and see Cloud standing behind her.
"Oh, Cloud! Did you see how big the airship at Junon was?" she chimed with a wide smile. Cloud crossed his arms and nodded; " I heard it was big but I didn't expect it to be that big."
"Me either." Aerith giggled. And even though she still had her SOLDIER helmet on, as she laughed she covered her mouth with her handan action Cloud always loved watching her do.
"Hey, do you think I could ever get on it?" she buzzed sweetly, her finger now clicking against her chin as she pondered.
"Sure." Cloud said matter of factly.
"Can we even ride the airship together, Cloud?" Aerith asked, her voice holding more excitement now than before. Cloud saw Aerith place her hands behind her back, in the sweet way she always did, which he learned she always did when smiling. Without any hesitation, Cloud gently reached over to Aerith and removed her helmet, uncovering her face and revealing the smile he held so dear.
Suddenly, the stoic Ex-Soldier couldn't say no.
"No matter what it takes, we'll ride it together." He said back, a weak smile on his face.
"Promise?" Aerith chimed, leaning forward with her hands hidden behind her as she gazed up at him.
"Promise." Cloud murmured back, looking forward to the day he could fulfill his promise to his flower girl.

Hold me
Like you held on to life
When all fears came alive and entombed me
Love me
Like you love the sun
Scorching the blood in my vampire heart
